Farmers
125*60 ft 1 turn
185*80 ft 1 turn
240*100 ft 1 turn
240*200 ft 1 turn ~28 seconds

Deadlifts
135*5
225*4
315*3
405*2
*add suit*
Couldn't reach the bar. Not even close. We ended up putting the bar on a half-rack so I could grab it standing up and lower it.

495*0
405*0

That didn't work either. Finally the suit was getting stretched out enough to where if I decided to embrace the pain in the thighs, I could get down with 315.

315*3

After that, the legs must've ridden up too high because 405 went nowhere. I got it from the half-rack, stepped back, bent forward a little, and could NOT bend my knees. It was like I had a noose wrapped around my upper UPPER thigh, and it wouldn't let me descend.

I'm very pleased with the farmers, and I'm going to be a bull about the suit and just keep at it until it gets looser and/or I get it right.

When it DID work for the 315, it felt like I was holding only the bar, literally. So when I master this thing, I should see some HUGE PR's coming.

Why the suit? Are you going to do some powerlifting?

Aren't deadlifting suits allowed in your strongman comps? Most comps here allow suits which have been approved by IPF.

Sometimes they are, yes. More often than not, though, a deadlift event in strongman will be a partial pull, for which a suit wouldn't do much good since all the boost comes at the bottom. I know that some comps like the Chicago one I just did do not allow suits, but as a general rule, I think they're acceptable.

That said, if there is a full pull event on which suits are allowed, it certainly does make sense to train in one. I just wasn't sure what Ascendant's specific motivation was. I've always been curious to try one, myself, but haven't yet been able to justify the purchase.

Absolutely. To be honest, the catalyst was seeing Blake pull 700 after he got one. That right there justified the purchase to me.

Now if I could just get it to work...
