Ascendant's Training Log

I don't know how specific I'll make this. It'll probably be more of a general outline of what we did, unless it was something I feel I learned from or broke a PR on.

1/3/08 Sunday

Log press
Warmed up, stopped at 253 to work on technique. Ended up doing about 6 sets of 2 (which is more volume than normal for me). The weight got easier the more sets I did. Fancy that. Of note: I tried a slight variation: added a small first dip, then a bigger second dip before pressing. This served to build up the confidence of the weight. Like doing a quarter squat with xx weight feel nice and light. So then when it's time to press you don't hold on to any lingering doubt about how heavy it feels at the top.

Best weight cleaned so far: 323
Best log pressed so far: 313

Next we hit the gym for SDLD's
Warmed up, hamstring felt twingy so I stayed light:

315x6
315x6
315x6
Then:
315x4 -> 365x3 -> 315x4
These were all supersetted and killed me. ALMOST lost breakfast afterwards.

Afterwards just some light upright rows supersetted with some outside db shrugs.

Monday should be cardio, abs, maybe bi's
Tuesday bench

Ha! you guys are goons, and are cheering me up. Thanks!

Oh, and I curl about once every 2-3 months, but when I do it's DB hammer curl and ~90 pounds/hand. I also like cable reverse grip curls, but just cause I can do the stack.

Don't test me on pullups...

*hurls Atlas stone*
