My logs never gotten so much action... ;)

Xtrainer - Nope. Smallville, KS. I might move to Metropolis, though, if the newspaper thing comes through.

Hunto - I know what you mean, though. Harnessed rage is where it's at, I think. And thank you for your words.

Fatty - (I really just want to use your name...) I remember thinking it had a LOT of give to it! I wonder if it's beneficial to train with one, or it'd just be a crutch.

My best lifting comes when I'm angry as well. Or when I use lifting a car off my Dad/fear-response. I think I may have a great deal to be angry about right now.

Btw - took myself to go see Iron Man tonight for a distraction, and may I just say: badass. If you haven't seen it, I'd go. Plus it has the trailer for the new Hulk movie, which I'll definitely make an appearance at.

A lot of powerlifters train primarily with a power bar. That way, when they get to a meet, their pull will be much stronger on a DL bar. If you were doing a meet or a strongman comp w/ a max pull, however, it would probably be beneficial to train w/ one near the end of a prep cycle just to let you know where you stand amd help you plan your attempts properly.

I've read that people who are really strong off the floor don't really benefit much from a deadlift bar. I'm pretty sure Ben Moore tried deadlifting with an okie bar once and he wasn't able to pull as much because he's strong off the floor and it through him off groove.

Edit, found where he was talking about it--pretty sure he's pulled 755 with a regular bar...

"Deadlifts w/ Okie Bar - 335x5, 445x3, add belt, 535x2, 625, 715 miss.
*I officially hate the Okie. I'm going to have to drop the weight for a few weeks and get used to the pull with this thing. It puts me in the worst spot imaginable."

and here's what another guy who's pulled 700+ said about it

"I think the okie is probably best for people who are weaker off the floor ben. I hated it when I first got it."
