Well my dad ended up TAKING the good bag, but I found a bigger one that could fit all 4 25 lb sand bags in it. Soo, I was usin that, then it exploded after I dropped it when I was shouldering it. So I switched to the BB.com one I have which is pretty small (50 lb max), and the side pocket of that ripped on like the 3rd snatch. It still functions though. Gonna end up getting a canvas one like what Ross uses.
The bag didn't really feel heavy enough at 50 lbs to measure work done in reps, so all work after the first one broke was done in volume. Oh and I'm selling my zune this or next week so I'll be able to buy a sledge to do sledge swings with.
5/8 - Strength/Explosivity Workout (All reps done with emphasis on moving weight as fast as possible)
10 minutes Dynamic Stretching
Warmup 20 burpees
75 lb Bag
Snatches 5x5
Clean + Press 5x3
Shouldering 3 min (Bag broke
)
50 lb Bag
Snatches 3 min
Clean + Press 3 min
Shouldering 3 min
Didn't feel tired enough at this point but was bored of light sandbag stuff, so even though I promised myself I wouldn't use my heavy bag till I got some legit boxing training, I did some strength-emphasis punchout drills (kicks as well).
3 minutes x 2 Punchout Drill (Made up combos, 1-1, 1-2, 1-2-1-body kick, etc)
My right arm hits harder and for longer than my left, but I want a beastly jab (when I do start boxing). Tried to rotate hips and keep hands up as well as I could. I don't think these drills will be TOO detrimental in the long run, so I'll prob have this once or twice a week for conditioning.
PWO shake was the best I've ever had. My dad got some organic milk stuff which is extremely thick. They don't print how many cals are in it, but I'd imagine a ton. Anyways about 16 oz of that and 4 scoops muscle milk (+ BA). Tasted fucking AMAZING.
Watched the Muay Thai episode of Human Weapon later in the night and did grip work/stretched (didn't do hip flexors earlier in the day cause they're really easy to do when watching TV).
Grip Training
20x100 lb full reps (each hand)
3x200lb negatives to failure
15x100 lb full reps
Rice grips till bored (10 or 20 minutes)
Was a good day. About 6k clean cals, probably a record (if you can count ham as clean).
