Your entire core is recruited much more when you have to stabilize your entire body, while the ROM is essentially the same.

I'm aware of the actual mechanics of the lifts, I just like a crazy back pump once in a while.
And about the hanging leg raises... Damn I've been failing my whole life.

If you get more of a pump doing lat pulldowns than pullups, you are doing one of the lifts wrong, or are using a different grip. There is no possible way to get less of a "pump" doing pullups than lat pulldowns if you use the same ROM. Overall you will always have more of a full body "pump" from pullups. If you hold the same shaped bar in the same way and make the same movement, you will always target the same muscles.

Maybe he doesn't get a pullup pump because he can't do enough reps on pullups to get a pump. I don't get a pump if I do 3 reps.

I assumed he can do at least 6 or 7, based on his bodyweight and other lifts.

I can do about 10, sometimes more. Idk, just like the super wide grip of the lat pulldown machine.
And we didn't lift today because we had a sub. I swear this class is miserable. Making the sandbag tonight though, think I have all the mats at home.

I have a suspicion that the 8lb you lost wasnt all fat...most of it was likely due to water loss as you dropped your carb/calorie intake significantly...the rest was probably fat/muscle loss...but whatever..
good luck with making the sandbag....it's a very useful training tool...

Either way, the definition I had was uncanny. It looks like a little bit of definition was lost transferring back to a normal diet, but whatever.

That's what my friends who want to lose weight don't get. They basically starve themselves and eat nothing for a few weeks, lose a lot of weight, then put it back on in a week. I had a feeling this would happen with the velocity diet.
