Wow, positivity in this thread, lol.
First, poker came easy to me when I was a kid, I understand probability and pot odds, and have made a ton of money playing hold-em at private games with high school kids. I've read some poker books (super system 1&2 and stuff online) and I'm definitely "better" than anyone I've played with so far, if you can even really be "better" than other people (at your level anyways). But yeah, that's sort of like a dream. And I have trust money I get, probably 12k or so will go towards poker, if I fail at that, well, time for a new dream.
Second, the results from the v-diet, even with some cheats, in a little over a week were super noticeable and pretty amazing. Don't hate till you try it. BUT I do want to gain a little mass and build my cardio, so I'll look into all the home-training stuff.
Third, my current irl issues are really a clusterfuck that I don't feel like getting into right now, and if anything they're just going to motivate me and give me more time to focus on training. So, good for me I guess.
Fourth, I deliberately set unrealistic goals (UFC and pro-poker player) for myself to motivate myself. Even if I fail at both of those, I'll still probably come pretty far in both, or at least lose a lot in poker. Poker's kinda on the back burner until college though, cause I'm penniless atm.
Fifth, yeah I need some sort of steady access to weights. Idk why they call the class weight training if we only get to train once a week and the other days we either walk the whole period or play basketball. Ugh.
And thanks for the advice.

It will be hard to increase maximal strength without a weight set. You will be able to increase your muscular endurance and work capacity though.
Here is Ross' link for homemade equipment

Also buy a jump rope...it will be your best friend.

And I found Ross's how to make a sandbag article. I'll probably make one this weekend.

Already on that, although I'd much rather have a speed rope. The one I got is more durable-ish I guess...

The problem isn't unrealistic goals, it's unhelpful goals. You say you want to fight in UFC but how the hell do you do that? It's not something you can accomplish. You don't just wake up one day as a UFC fighter.
It's okay to say your dream is to become a UFC fighter or whatnot, but you should set goals that are attainable. That way, you'll have a plan for getting where you want to be.

Not even a UFC fighter really, I don't remember posting that. I just want to compete in a martial art, maybe more than one, MMA included. I thought my goals for that were pretty realistic as far as mid-long term goes. You begin training to learn an art, you keep training to master an art, and that's what I planned on doing. I'm fairly certain I never said "I WANT TO FIGHT IN THE UFC." And if I did it was something I said about being able to outstrike Anderson Silva, which is obviously an unrealistic goal for where I am right now, BUT training to be able to do so would put me in the right direction.
