I can intervene here and tell you that X-trainer usually will suggest that you do some GPP related to what you did the day before.

i.e heavy squat day = do a bunch of BW squats
heavy press = pushups
pull = do some light rows

Main idea is to just get the blood flowing and heartbeat up a bit quickly in the morning, and to alleviate soreness from the workout prior.

About reps and stuff, XTrainer will sometimes do 100 BW squats and stuff in the morning. If you're just trying to increase the numbers in those 3 exercises, than more frequency could not hurt.

Now i'll let xtrainer address this...

Today
Got my squat back

Squats, ATG
135x5
185x3
225x2
245x2-First one didn't feel good, 2nd did.
265x1-That's more like it. This is what I missed for several weeks in a row.
(Put on belt)
265x4-LoL, felt beastly! My technique is so much better with a belt on. This is a rep PR.
(Take belt off, only used a belt on that one set).
265x1
265x1
245xSome, can't remember. A few short sets.
225x6
185x8
135x20 or something.

Some straight leg deadlifts, worked up to 295.

DL challenge later tonight I think.

Bad_coupon: Thank you!

h7jb7sg1e: Thank you. I've tried hook gripping (or, at least, tried to hook grip as best as I can when learning from a book) and it is painful to me. I feel like I'm tearing off my nail! Is this normal at first? Thanks for the input.

BTW, just redid the BW deadlift challenge. 67 reps. Meh. Small improvement over last time, but I had a pretty harcore workout today so I can't complain.

Today
Good workout. I think I'm going to start alternating weeks of heavy bench/light push press, and heavy PP/light bench.

Bench
135x4
185x1
195x3
195x3
195x3-Good, never got this for 3 sets before, and the second set a few weeks ago was iffy. These all felt really solid today.
185x3
Pause reps: 185x1, 3 or 4 times, limited rest (~30 sec)
175x5+
135x8(No rest).>I was really tired for these final back-off sets. The pause reps took a toll on me.

*This space normally reserved for chins, but I'm going to go for a new rep max tomorrow, so not today*

Push Press (Light, which is all I can manage after bench anyway).
95x2
135x2
155x1-Eew. Felt like crap.
155x2-Much better.
155x2
155x2
155x2
155x2
135x1+5 Pressouts

Skullcrusher/Pullover supersets (90lbs/60lbs, 5-8 rep range)

Some bike, core work later.
