Okay, since I hate posting in the Heavyweight forum...
Who's with me in thinking Chuck needs to go find a new camp? I know he's been with Hackleman forever and has close ties there, but he needs to move on. They can't do anything to help him now. Chuck doesn't need someone to pat him on the back after a loss and say "you made a mistake." He needs trainers and sparring partners that will tell it like it is and push him to the limit to improve, and make changes if necessary. I don't think he's getting that at the Pit. These things are happening at Couture's camp, the Miletich camp, Greg Jackson's, AKA,etc. IF Chuck sincerely wants to get back in contention, he needs to have the instruction and sparring partners that the rest of the contenders are getting.

i think either that or he needs to start spending $$ to bring in good sparring partners.

^Except that might compound the problem. If Chuck's spending $$$, it's still all about Chuck. I think he needs to be in a humbling but educational environment.

Today
Totally different bench workout today. Swallowed my pride, dropped the weight. Plateau, prepare to be crushed...
Bench
5x3, all at 185 except one random set at 190.
Close Grip Bench
~3x5 155 (Pause reps mixed in there)
Incline Dumbbell Bench
3x60lb dumbbells
4x60lb
3x60lb
3x60lb...Could have done these heavier, but I wanted to make sure I hit my set-rep goal.
Skullcrushers
1x(Almost)8 80lbs
2x8 70lbs
Lots of dips, some pull ups.
Some flyes.
Bike.
Core later.

Is it more than 24 BW chins? Is it? Is it? Because I just did 24 chins.
24.

You're ahead of me by a few still, and I've hit a plateau on CHINS (among almost everything else), so you're in good shape, for the moment....

Today
My first plateau-busting pull day.
Deadlifts
10x135
5x225
1x315
1x385
1x405-Way harder than it should have been. My body has forgotten what it is like to pick up heavy full-range deadlifts.
1x405
0x405-Could have ground it out probably, but that's not the goal today.
1x385
1x365
2x365
Pull Ups
Messed arounf with a bunch of different weights and reps trying to find a good baseline for a 5x3 routine. I'm thinking 5x3 at 60lbs is a good, safe place to start.
Curls/Shrugs
Finisher: Got 40x135 squats. Could have got 50 probably, but there is something big on Sunday, I don't want to kill myself. A few more pull ups in here.
Core later.
Weirdness at the gym today:
A guy standing on the calf-raise machine so he can do the wrist roller with a longer ROM?????
A double amputee lecturing me about my pull-ups ("3 Reps don't do crap!"). This same person I CONSISTENTLY go out of my way to help out in whatever way I can (rack his weights for him, get/return dumbbells, spot, whatever).

Yep, I can drop the age whenever I want and my rather modest S&P/conditioning accomplishments become almost noteworthy...almost...
