RE Upper Body
General Notes: I did the crazy high rep benching again tonight. It was hilarious after I got down with those sets and the skullcrushers. I had da crazy, Anabolic Halo, Muscletech fueled PUMP. I just felt dirty doing this stuff. However, this time I cut my rest times down a bit so I was definitely working my ass off and sweating hard. It did feel good by the time I was done.

I'm going to be taking at least a week off to let my body heal. Friday at work I had some serious sciatica in my left leg. I'm starting to think more and more that I have a herniated disk in my back that keeps getting aggravated by numerous things: my sedentary job, shitty bed, lifting heavy with less than perfect form and really tight hamstrings.
I'm bummed because I was going to go for 200+ on my bench press today. However, my better judgment which I rarely listen to says I should give my body a break so I don't seriously injure myself. Being able to lift heavy is really important and I don't want to jeopardize that because I pushed it.
My wife and I bought a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed last night. Hopefully this solves at least one problem in my life and hopefully my bed can become a source of rejuvenation instead of a source of the problem.
I don't know why I'm writing about this. I figured if I didn't write about it I wouldn't be attempting to move forward towards a solution to the problem. I want to be strong, I want to deadlift 405, I want to squat 405, and it's hard to see those goals as attainable right now the way my leg and back feel.

I went to my third chiropractor yesterday in an effort to figure out why my left foot is tingling and why my left leg is in general not doing good. She is a lot better than the other people I've gone to. She uses massage therapy in addition to chiropractic to treat people. Well, after poking around a little bit she figured out my hip flexor is about as tight as it can get. This made a lot of sense since I've never had pain in my back. I'm going to go back a couple more times to get some massage therapy but for the most part I'm so happy to at least have an idea what the problem is and what it isn't.
I'm definitely feeling better and not so depressed. Who knows, maybe I can start lifting heavy with no symptoms in a week or so .

i worked a job for 4 months where i was basically at a computer desk for 8-10 hours and my back and hamstrings started aching like a motherfucker. what i basically did, and this is gonna sound retarded and whacky, is instead of sitting i just assumed the bottom of the squat position and just hung out like that at my desk. luckily i was in a cubicle and no one could see me because they'd probably call some orderlies to come take me away but it would do wonders for your flexibility. no joke. do this once an hour for 5 minutes. just sit in that position and see what it does for your squat and deadlift.

That's a damn good idea. I sometimes do stretching on breaks.

ME Upper Body
General Notes: Well, it's been over three weeks since I've been at the gym. My hip and leg is still not feeling awesome but the chiropractor and massage therapist I've been going to said I should start lifting again. I kept my session light today but I did some swimming after I lifted which seemed to really help my hip and leg loosen up.
