*** SOB ***

It's sad but true.

However, I hear that's better than being fat.

I saw something really odd and upon further inspection I decided that it was really fucking stupid.

Some guy starts prepping to floor press in the Smith machine. I thought this was pretty cool since I've never seen anyone besides me do a floor press. He puts 50 pounds on the bar, gets underneath it, and starts his set. He then propels the bar upward at a very fast rate and lets go and catches it on the way back down...

*** shakes head and continues his noob workout ***

The good ol' ballistic bench press... I've heard about it before, don't know if there's really any point in doing it.

I don't know either. The reason I posted it in my log is I've been burned posting in the "New Favorite Idiot" thread because I'm pretty much still an idiot when it comes to training. However, I just can't see a point in doing that. First of all, what happens if you miss the catch? Second of all, you couldn't do it with heavy weight. I've seriously seen the weirdest shit performed in that Smith machine. I guess I don't mind to much since those people don't use the power rack then.

Yeah it sounds pretty silly. But it is no surprise if he's from the 'strength train fast to be fast, and make sure your strength training mimics real life movements' camp. Perhaps he was 'training' to push people off when they are on top of him. Who knows what people think!

ME Lower Body

General Notes: my leg is bugging the crap outta me lately. I still get tingles and lately my hip has been so tight. I stretch and I stretch and it's not really getting better. I'm thinking after I finish WSFSB I'll take a little break and try to heal up. I think my hip kind of affected my workout today since I felt a little weak but I also didn't have too much to eat before I started working out.

Deadlift
------------
135x5x2
155x3x2
165x3
185x3
205x3
225x3
245x3 --> I didn't want to push past this
225x3
225x3

Barbell Step-Ups
--------------------------
95 x 8 (each leg)
75 x 8 (each leg)
75 x 8 (each leg)

Stability Ball Hamstring Lifts
-------------------------------------------
Notes: I was surprised how hard these were. On a couple of the reps I thought my hamstrings were going to cramp up.
10 reps
10 reps
10 reps
10 reps

DB Farmer's Walk
---------------------
55's x ~50 yards
55's x ~50 yards
55's x ~50 yards
55's x ~50 yards
