WS4SB is a good program...you'll like it a lot.
Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, I was proud of my wife for doing some hard work.

I really like going for the 3 rep max. It felt good to really work for all that weight. I know it's not that much weight but it sure felt like a lot of weight to me. I can't wait to try to beat my PR next week.

Do you guys think I should just put my wife on WS4SB? It seems a little intense but it's also pretty simple.

There is no reason for your wife to train any differently than you. As long as she is willing, I think you two should do the program together. Here is a link for your wife on weight training - http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/index.php

Also - lower the weight on the seated DB cleans. I would start with very light weight for any external rotation exercise. Since you are a noob, I might even make since to do 2-3 weeks @ 15-20 reps for 3 sets or so. Make sure it is a weight that you can keep your form solid. After a few weeks switch back to 10-12 reps, like Defranco recommends.

I don't see any reason why she couldn't. Just adjust the weights accordingly.

I wish I could get my girl on a program like that. She just likes the machines, I got her squatting, now she just needs to get out of the Shirley Machine.

My wife took a look at what three weeks on the Bill Starr 5x5 did to my body and she said, "I want to look like that." I couldn't believe it. She even deadlifted.

I'm punching the next person I hear say, "You have to do curls to work your biceps." My arms are really sore from my workout yesterday and as you can see I didn't do one eff'ing curl.

I also forgot to eat some cottage cheese before I went to bed . Twelve-hour fast ftl.

General Notes: I was pretty nervous about lifting today seeing as tonight would be the first time deadlifting since I hurt my back. My legs are still tingling a little but it's definitely not as bad. I should wait until all the sensation is gone but I was getting impatient. Right now I feel OK but the real test will be tomorrow.

Deadlift
----------
Notes: I started out ridiculously light since I didn't want to hurt myself. Since my life was lifting off the pins in the power rack I decided to simply do her reps with her. The last reps felt pretty good. I didn't feel anything tweak or tighten up so I decided not to push it and just go slow.
45x5
65x5
85x5
95x5
105x5
115x5
135x5
155x5

Barbell Step-Up
--------------------
Notes: Once again I didn't want to get too crazy here so I took it light.
45x8 (each leg)
55x8 (each leg)
85x8 (each leg)

Good Mornings
-------------------
Notes: someone was in the power rack so I decided to just try these out with the bar to see how they would feel. I realized I'm still not flexible at all...
45x6

Pull-Throughs
----------------
Notes: Well, since my squat is shitty due to inflexibility, these aren't much better. I still got some of the motion down but the weight wasn't too heavy. I'll do better next time.
60x10
80x10
100x10

Grip Work
------------
Notes: This was tougher than I thought.
10 x 60 sec
20 x 30 sec
15 x 20 sec

Turkish Get-Ups
-------------------
Notes: These aren't in the WS4SB program but I just love doing them so I decided to throw them in on the ME Lower Body day. I didn't do a ton of them because I don't really know how much to do with these yet. I just wanted to experiment for now. I did the following reps with about 30 seconds rest.
25 x 1 (each arm)
35 x 1 (each arm)
45 x 1 (each arm)

*** Wife's Entry ***

General Notes: My wife didn't have the best session today. It had a lot to do with me teaching her form on the deadlift, pull-through, and turkish get-up and I don't know shit. We'll both do better next time.

Deadlift
----------
Notes: She was getting really frustrated with what I was telling her and to come to her defense I was contradicting myself with what I was telling her. This guy who was pulling 315 came over and gave her some good pointers and it seemed to help her a lot. She pulled a lot more weight than she did last week.
45x5
65x5
85x5
95x5
105x5
115x5

Dumbbell Step-Up
-----------------------
10's x 8 (each leg)
15's x 8 (each leg)
20's x 8 (each leg)

Pull-Through
---------------
Notes: She was really pissed at me this time. I kept telling her to keep her back straight but she couldn't figure out how to do that and bend down at the same time. We both realized that she's been bending her back all these years when she reaches down to pick something up. In other words, her posture is just like mine -- shitty.
20x6
40x6
60x4

Grip Work
------------
5 x 60 sec
10 x 30 sec
15 x 20 sec

Update on my leg: it felt pretty weird this morning. I could feel tingling but it's been different than the usual -- I feel more warmth than tingle. I don't know if it's getting better or worse . I really wish this thing would just get better or worse so I could just lift normally or take a month off...
