Isn't it true that you really don't need a car in Japan? I heard public transportation is top notch and efficient over there.

Ugh!! It would be very very hard for me to walk past a Ferrari or an Aston Martin in a car lot and hand over money for a Porsche. They just seem so uninspired, engineering genius but there is something so off-putting about them.

I don't have hands on experience of many these mate, just a wasted youth of nerding it up on car magazines and every motoring show you can imagine with as many expos as I could go too. Ill never own one unless something weird happens in my life, even then if I did come into big money I dont think Id be able to live with one of these cars, renting one for a weekend would be great fun though.

In the cities, and intercity it is, if you live in the countryside though like I do you need to have your own way to get around. I live on a tiny, sparsely populated rural island which has no public transport whatsoever except for a drunk-cab for office parties which you have to order in advance for all the teachers or shipyard workers after a party!! In the city you dont need one at all, the streetcar is very very good and taxis are very cheap and efficient.

Good man with the mustang mate, thats a great car. Very iconic, thats what I loved about the US, even though those cars aren't very well engineered or refined compared to the Euro cars, they look cool, sound brutal and go well in a straight line, and are affordable for normal folks. At home you'd have to be minted to drive around something like that.

pretty much the same as me, just dreaming. My only performance car experience is with turbo japanese cars - something you are no doubt familiar with!

Yeah Ive seen some crazy machines over here.

Gotta be honest though, Dublin has an incredible amount of super high end cars. The rich areas of Dublin boast several of the world's most serious machines, loads of AMG Mercs and M BMW's, as well as Ferraris, Porsches and there are a couple of Lamborghinis knockin' around too.

Ha ha, the original sleeper, that things was a family saloon with a rocket up its arse!! Right at the time when the German cars were all being 155 limited too, this vauxhall shoots out of nowhere with this thing doing 170 and over. Crazy machine. Do you have one?

Dublin hey - no shit, wouldn't have picked that.

I was in Europe not long ago and all the places I expected to see heaps of hot cars (paris, milan, etc) - hardly anything. Then in Switzerland, where I had heard they weren't big on cars, I saw all sorts of interesting machinery.

Lots of Europe's rich folks live in Switzerland where they have massive houses and expensive cars for tax reasons, when I was there too I saw just about every performance car available at the time. Most of those cars probably werent being driven by Swiss people, a lot of them are Germans who move there.

yeah, makes sense. Having been there, if i were ever to have the means i'd live there too. Buy me a ferrari (or a porsche ) and retire to the alps to live like an international man of intrigue for the rest of my days.

until then i'll have to stick with a nissan in little old adelaide.
