Everyday car
As understated as the Mercedes is, its still a high end car and you wouldn't drive it everywhere. I think you'd still need a smaller, more practical car for everyday purposes that dont need a massive machine to accomplish.
Mine would be, the Audi RS4.
Smaller than the Mercedes and more useable in an every day scenario like I said, doesn't have the image problems associated its main rival, with the BMW M3, is total unnoticable and has everything you need for what its purpose is. Has gotten great reviews in every publication I've read, can't think of a better candidate.Looking forward to this one!!

M3 is a "runaround everyday practical car"?

Yep, I have loved that car from the moment I saw it. I have been saving for a house and I have just enough to buy it in cash and I'm thinking about doing it. I can always live in the car.

Yep. Has high performance but still can be used for every day purposes. Wouldnt be a pain to park, can navigate smaller streets without taking up the whole width of them, plenty of space for shopping, speed ramps and all that no problem.

Wow, well to each their own. What is it about it? I thought this thread would be ferraris and muscle cars, didnt think Id see any range-rover typed vehicles, except maybe in the practical runaround section.

M3 is sweet, wouldn't mind having one of those bad boys.
There must be nice cars in Japan, no? In Geneva I see Ferrari's and Lambo's everywhere.

i) a luxury car
ii) a supercar
iii) a run around everyday practical car
iv) a convertible for the cruising around in
v) a track car
Alright.
Luxury Car:
For the perfect luxury car I would certainly pick the same as TS
Supercar:
I would absolutely chose the Ferrari 599. Although it's a Gran Turismo and lacks the slim design of the Enzo, it is said to have prestine handling and still tops out with 620HP, 608FP Torque, and a 3.2s 0-60.
Run around everyday:
Without question, the BMW 135i coupe. 300 Horsepower, decent gas mileage, twin turbo, and enough room for the family and easy to parallel park.
Convertible:
Honda S2000. Light, Quick, Quiet, easily modifiable with that big boy VTEC.
Track Car:
My personal favorite, I would chose the Nissan Skyline GTR 34. Amazing Nurburing track times, and what Jeremy Clarkson considers one of the best handling cars of all time. Not overly heavy, easily modifiable, and very strong even stock.

From a few owners i've heard that the Audi S4 doesn't hold its age well, alot of fixing and parts need to get replaced over time. i personally wouldnt recommend it.
my dream car:

a very powerful for its size 2.4L engine, power options are endless as this car has a very high redline. Handling is beyond supreme and its a convertible, if your into that sort of thing

There are some nice ones, not that many though. A lot of skylines and crazy turbo'd cars, not too many of the marquee typed ones us Euros like so much. You can't fault their build quality and all round impressiveness as machines, but this kind of discussion they don't really factor in.

599 isn't really a supercar though is it? Its more in the genre of the 550 or 575, a gran turismo sports exec car. Impressive figures, and Im sure its a wonderful machine, just looks too sensible to be a supercar!!
Good call on the 135, cant argue with that at all.
The Honda S2000 again. Yeah, I can see why, I cant argue much, it doesnt appeal to me in what I want from a convertible but I can see why some people like it.
The skyline is a beast, especially the one you mentioned. Do you not feel it takes the fun out of driving though? With so many driver assists and aids, yeah you'll lap a track in incredible times, but I think the fun of a white knuckle ride F355 is more my thing. Totally your own opinion of course, but I think the same of TVR inthat they are wonderful for just having a laugh as they are so on the edge, the Japanese cars are so good at correcting mistakes and adjusting things for you that I think they just take the fun away.
