Actually is not latin, is Spanish: Vaya con Dios; literal translation would be go with God, more or less May god accompany you. The correct use of "vaya con Dios" would be: Que Dios te acompañe.

Yes, the romans used greek foreign words as we use for example latin now though, just to showcase themselfs as smart and cultivated.

Did you knew that after the decline of the roman empire most of the greek papyrus were translated in Baghdad!!!

I hd always thought that "Deus ex machina" meant "God out of the machine" not "God as a machine". I don't speak Latin, but I think I am right on this, because the ex is aprefix meaning out of (exodus, excomunicate, extricate, exclaim) and it is saying God is coming out of nowhere to provide a comfortable solution to an intractable problem.
