You Were Wrong.

You ever think something is absolutely right, when in reality it is ABSOLUTELY wrong? I think everyone has experienced this at one time or another. We are all dumb assholes.

For the longest time, for some reason, I was 100% sure that the guitarist in Weezer was Jason Schwartzman. When I would watch Weezer videos, I would say, "Oh, there's the guy from Rushmore playing guitar." Why was I so sure about this? I don't know. I knew Jason Schwartzman was in a famous band (that band being the not so famous Phantom Planet, where he played drums) and somehow sub-consciously I came to the conclusion that he MUST be the guy in Weezer.

Brian Bell of Weezer

Jason Schwartzman

I guess they kind of look alike.

I discussed this @ work yesterday and one of my co-workers said that up throughout high school she thought the word "mandatory" meant "optional." She missed many assemblies. When she finally got in trouble her teachers thought she was either retarded, or the worst excuse-giver in history. "But... but, Mrs. Smith, you said it was MANDATORY!"

In the "Lost" thread, I remember some dude thought Desmond was Australian, for some odd reason, when it was clearly shown that he was Scottish.

Random stuff like that. For some reason this shit happens.

I just had one the other day.

In the movie Donnie BRasco....I always thought that when Lefty and Donnie are talking about horse racing that at the end LEfty says "I gotta cancel the prick, i'm in the medical books for that"

So i've argued with several people about it, most recently a friend a couple days ago. The other day I look up the quote, and it's "I got cancer of the prick". I was wrong the whole time. I'm such a dick.

At least you're humbled by it.

I had a friend who was convinced it was Nick Nolte(sp) in the movie Point Break and not Gary Busey. It's safe to say he felt like a jackass when he decided to drive me to a video store to "prove" it.

Did it humble him? For about 30 minutes.. He's still a pretentious jackass who conveniently forgets when he's been wrong.

yeah actually i can relate perfectly, i just can't remember exactly what about.

what i do remember is when i found out i was wrong, never mentioning it again in the hopes that they will forget and if they do remember i'd try to twist it around to make myself sound right
