The PS3 has no problems because its hard to wear it out when it doesn't get used since there are only a handful of decent games to play.

edit: thanks for the posts with the actual help in the meantime
Edit: Same way I accept you being a numbnut when it comes to electronics and maybe your lazy ass can read and do some research instead next time.

Touche

But seriously, I just didn't want you to be misinformed about the failure rate now, or the turnaround time.

The only thing i can say on vga vs. component vs hdmi is the colour on vga look duller, and i can't tell the difference between component and hdmi although technically components are more susceptible to electronic interference due to them having an analogue signal as opposed to being digital...

to summarize, you probably won't notice a difference between the three...

How many games are actually in 1080p, if any?

Aren't almost all of them at 720p?

4 days? it takes them at least 2 days to send you a pre paid postage box so you can send your xbox in for repair, and the reason MS gives you a free month of Xbox live...you guessed it, because it'll take about 3 to 4 weeks! just make sure you have the xbox out in a well ventilated area, don't stand it up...the air comes in through the other side of the hard drive.

you only need the HDMI cable if your TV has the HDMI jack. I don't know what version of xbox 360 you got, but it might not support HDMI.

in case it does, do NOT pay more than 10 bucks for a HDMI cable. all that Triple thick monster cable jibberish is all BS. get a cheap one that's long enough...get one for $1.88, and it'll do the trick. check out cheap hdmi cables.
