X-Files: I Want To Believe movie review
So I went into the movie without knowing the premise/plot and trying to avoid watching any previews. I didn't want to have the story spoiled. After viewing the movie, all I can say is that I Want To Believe that the movie wasn't written by Chris Carter, but by an X-Files fanboy, or possibly someone with a mental disorder.
I loved the old television show, and consider it to be among the best shows in television history. I thought the previous X-Files movie was very underrated and deserved much better reviews than it received. In other words, I really, really wanted to like this movie.
***Slight spoilers ahead, but don't worry, you're not going to care if you watch the movie***
The plot revolves around three things: murdering Russians with a God complex (that is never explained), a pedophile priest who has psychic powers, and a boy who is dying of a rare brain disease.
***End of spoilers***
There. I gave you the movie and saved you $10 that could be used for much better purposes, like throwing at homeless people or leaving it in your pants while they are being washed. There is more paranormal/alien activity in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls.
The X-Files: I Want To Believe = 4/10.
