It's a group mentality. If an entire group ignores someone in need, everyone does. If one person stops and helps, everyone then starts to help.

It's a puzzling thing in human psychology that nobody seems to h ave a good theory on as to why.

Well......If was walking to work, and some drunk passed out in front of me. Id kiss him to the curb to sleep it off.

Passing out drunk on the sidewalk is not comparable to being stabbed outside your apartment complex or dying in the waiting room of the ER.

You can be an illegal without a freaking ID card and pretty much be a legal ghost and still get a tax number from the IRS. Not only that, they use fake security cards and pay taxes through there. Obviously in both cases they don't get the money back and the government keeps it, hence the money goes to public services. So yes, they do participate in the creation of the services they use.
Plus, when a company makes more profits, it pays more taxes. The company saves 70 bucks a day having an illegal alien, but they produce $500 bucks more, so more profits, more taxes. Oh wait, good old conservatives want less taxes for the rich, so I guess it's worthless to think about that now.

Im really not a conservative, im just in the opinion that they are hurting our health care system. I am also pretty confident that for every one or two that do get a tax number there is an equeal amount that do not. I just dont see why people defend them when they are obviously breaking the laws. Ive had 3 friends who have had their Social Security numbers used by illegal immigrants and mess up their college financial aid. I am in full support of having whoever wants to come and be a part of our country i just believe that it should be done in the proper way, the way that the imigrants of earlier generations did it. I am also far from rich, definatly not a bush supporter, and am just tired of so many issues that I myself believe relate back to illegal imigration.

LOL, I just thought I'd use the opportunity to do my annual mayberry rant about the bystandar effect. But even I get annoyed when I read this crap.

I took my mom to the ER once when she was getting chemo therapy for her Cancer. They told us, "If she ever gets seriously dehydrated, take her in immediately!" Well she did and I took her immediately. Of course we sat out there for two hours with a bunch of people coughing and puking and looking like they were dying. Now I understand that there were probably people in greater need, but three times I went up to the receptionist and said, "Can we move my mom to a different area while we wait." but she refused to let us. It was as if she didn't realize that people on chemo therapy with cancer have extremely fragile immune systems and are very liable to get sick and even die. I was pissed.

When i used to manage college kids, one girl had a...panic attack? episode? whilst in the middle of very stressful production..she collapsed, and I had to carry her, and drive her all the way to the hospital (chick had just been diagnosed with cancer at 10), "just wait there" SHES FUCKING DYING OR SOMETHING. Then she sorta woke up...and saw her doctor in an hour (outside of the hospital).
