Would you want to extremely smart in 1 thing or
like you can be one of the smartest car mechanics (A grade knowledge) and not much knowledge in other fields or have a average ( C average knowledge) bit of knowledge in mechanics and a wide variety of fields

i would choose smartest in field over a little in a wide variety.
but i would choose really good in a wide area over near expert in one field.

looks you didn't choose grammar for your specialty...
i would choose specific knowledge in one area. assuming it was extensive in that area.

I think it's generally better to have a variety of knowledge rather than one specific thing. You are a lot more versatile.

Well he asked what I wanted for myself. I personally would like to be knowledgable in in all aspects of something rather than one specific thing.
Take MMA for example. If someone is the best striker in the world and doesn't know anything about BJJ or wrestling he isn't going to last very long in an elite competition.

Some fields are superior to others, IMO
