I totally agree.

i believe you're thinking of an autistic guy from england who sees numbers as having specific shapes and tints in his mind. he doesn't solve equasions logically- you just ask him a problem and he sees all the numbers in his head in their color + shape in a linear row.

ps not to bag on the guy, but there really is a difference between being smart and a genius (as in one who engenders novel ideas). einstein was not even that intelligent for a physicist yet he's arguably the most important mind of the 20th century because he possessed a special skillset that allowed him insight that others could not attain.

i remember in a pysch class i had the prof told us that creativity is correlated to above average g, but nothing more.

My point of laughing at the fact that the man with the highest iq in the world believes in God is that I have heard many people on this forum say that pretty much anyone that believes in God is stupid. One person even went so far as to say those that taught theology at ivy league schools were dumb as well.

Its a lot easier of an assumption to make that if his IQ is that high, that he is probably pretty smart in other aspects of intelligence, then assuming that he is well below average in them.

Think about it logically.

To use an mma analogy, its like saying "anderson silva is so good on his feet, he must SUCK at the bjj"

I think luck plays a big role in people discovering things.

Having an IQ past a certain point generally means you are extremely lacking in many other fascists of life. Having a high IQ also doesn't mean you are more intelligent then another person at everything. IQ tests focus mainly on academic areas. However there is more to life then just words and numbers. This is why people like Bill Gates and Stephen Hawking revolutionized the world and the way we think about things more then the man with the highest IQ ever will.

don't even compare bill gates to hawking. you're comapring a guy who "revolutionized" the computer industry by simply being more successful than other compeitors at buying people out and giving out his shitty software via deep pockets vs one of the most important natural scientists of all time.

He completely and utterly revolutionized the entire tech industry, the way high end businesses are run and changed the way the world works. If it wasn't for Gates and a few other key people, the world as we know it would be completely different and many pieces of equipment scientists like Hawking use, including the chair that is his livelihood, would not exist.

If you think all he did was invent Windows, you're lost.

Hawking's contributions have obviously been much greater then what Bill has done in the great scheme of things, but when a single man changes the way the world operates, his name belongs in amongst the top in the world.

lol for starters he never wrote anything, and windows is simply a second rate ripoff of the mac's grapic OS.

your argument is tantamount to arguing that westinghouse was more important than tesla.
