The fact that he scored 70+ points higher than Darwin should tell you something about IQ tests.

There was a science channel special on IQ tests. They took an IQ test expert, mixed him with an artist, a playwright, a musical prodigy, a physicist, and a few other people. They performed numerous different tests ranging from arts, general education, puzzles, etc etc. The physicist came in first, playwright second, and the IQ test expert came in third.

The point being; IQ tests are nothing more than 'Who can be the most clever under pressured circumstances?'

I'm not saying this guy isn't intelligent. I'm just saying he's not 'The smartest person alive'. The guy shouldn't even be labeled a genius. A genius is someone who takes something that is widely agreed upon, flips it, and changes everyone's mind.

Those tests don't sound like they are very g-loaded. It's no surprise that someone with a genius iq could get outperformed on an arts test by an artist or on a general knowledge tests by a quiz guru. Those tests don't have much to do with raw ability.

I've seen Langan get hammered on internet message boards and his theory totally crushed. His shit just doesn't hold water. After being humiliated, Langan played the "high IQ card" and claimed that nobody understood his theory and it wasn't his job to explain it. These weren't amateurs either, some of the guys who debunked him were PhDs and I believe one of them held two PhDs.

Also, Langan has been in and out of high IQ clubs. He has the uncanny ability to create a cult following, piss off his friends, and then start new cult followings. He's an ass.

Langan may ace the tests but he fails at life. Soon Langan and his "theory" will wash away and be forgotten.

Nobody is saying he's the smartest person alive. But having the highest IQ based on a standardized test is a huge achievement in itself. He should get credit for that at least.
