Yes, your point about tangible benefits would have been more convincing if you had correctly used their instead of there. You didn't actually list any examples of anything. You simply stated your opinion. And while i was reading your post i was thinking, "This guy sounds like he knows what he is talking about... oh wait, he can't tell the difference between there, their and they're. He probably less intelligent than I initially thought."

Have you never come across the situation where you see someone who you think is intelligent unable to do something incredibly easy? Did you think they were less intelligent afterwards?

And, assuming you had not misused their/there, my point would have been, "I agree."

I agree he could be a little more respectful. But why should he be the only one respectful he's just like you or me and there's nothing but disrespect in this thread anyways.
It wasn't just disrespectful to Darwin, the average IQ is around 110 is it not? He basically turned his nose up to the vast majority of the world... I'm not going to criticize what he's done with his life, since there has been many brilliant people who never had the chance/motivation to use it in a productive manner. The sad thing is, it can be very hard to find modesty in highly intelligent people, which I find quite ironic.

uhhhh, I don't think so. If you are happy, then why would you need people to envy you?

No, I think its stupid that people here think that anyone that believes in God is stupid. Go into any religious thread and see what I have to say about the subject.

the average iq is 100 by definition. That is how they measure it.

I bet he would give up his IQ just to have a few friends.

He became world renowned because he got high scores on an IQ test. He can answer puzzle questions. Big deal. He is not intelligent by any useful measure of intelligence and he is certainly not a genius.
Hitler pretty much did as much that is humanly possible to do the opposite of contributing to society, but to doubt his genius would be foolish. He was evil, yes, but the fact is he came from nothing to single-handedly rebuild an economically and militarily destroyed nation so effectively that Germany was able escape the Great Depression while the rest of the world was desperately searching for a remedy, and build a military juggernaut which would defeat some of the world's greatest forces and would forever change the way wars are fought. So no, he didn't contribute to society -- far from it -- but he did have a genius mind.

Who cares if Darwin's IQ was 135? 135 is pretty high.

Well said. Some of the thought process in this thread is ridiculous.
