Just like any sales job, you can make money if you are VERY good. If not, stay the hell out of it because it's basically some pyramid scheme.

i know someone that works for them. my family and i are clients of theirs.

it's a legit company as they are regulated by the NASD and SEC, and the local state insurance commission. if they were a scam they would've been out of business a long time ago.

It can be legal, and still be a "scam".

It's a lot like Primerica. Basically, people recruit everyone they know to sell financial products. They help with refinances to help you save $$$ for the long run. It's not really "bad", the advice is sound, it's the recruiting nature that scares me.

Most people shouldn't be financial advisors, but both Primerica and WFG try and get everyone on earth to be selling their shit. That just scares me. However, for most people who can't adequately manage their own money, they are as decent choice as any. (Which essentially means they are not a good choice for anyone who can read and do their own research.)

i believe when it comes to business practices and ethics, there is no gray area for scam under the jurisdiction of the NASD. you're either a scam or not.

here's a website to check on your financial advisor and the company they work for. it's good stuff!
