I am a construction worker. We had a shutdown scheduled which is a planned outage for a unit in a refinery for maintainance but we had a pipe burst in another unit and caused a fire.
So we had to bust ass to finish the shutdown so we could get in and repair the fire damage.

In case of any confusion, I mean 10 days every two weeks, 9 hours/day or 9 days every two weeks, 10 hours/day.

But that means you have plenty of days off, once a project is finished (days off to look/wait for another)

The correct answer is: whatever is more convenient (and/or comfortable) for you.

(?)Does that 1 hour wear you out or make you go home a little later than you'd like [then do M-F]

(?)Or does it not really matter that much (take Fri.'s off)

Either is ok. You get more freetime total with the M-Th deal, 5 less hours cut to where you get a free extra day.

I'm in a similar situation. I used to get Fri off, but now I find I'm happier leaving work a little earlier and feel better on Friday (I'd tend to get lazy and crash on Friday). That's just me.

Either one is good. Unless your work sucks. If it sucks, get the Friday off

On a regular schedule we do a 4 day 10 hour work week. But I do not have time off to look for jobs or next projects they look for me.
