WOOO HOOO!! LA Film Festival here I come!

I'm so stoked! I'm going to the LA film festival this weekend. I'm basically going to watch like 12 hours straight of artsy fartsy flicks.

Sorry, I know it's nerdy but I'm really excited. This is how I'd guess a normal person feels when they're about to go to their favorite band's concert.

Never been into concerts myself, but short films? I'm there, daddy!

Anyone else going?

I hate shorts. Such a waste of time. I prefer watching full length. Is it expensive? Do they have foreign films? I've really been getting into Asian cinema this passed year.

i would go to a film festival that had good movies in it. this is akin to amateur night at a comedy club. you might see some potential but even then, it will most likely be raw and unpolished.

Well I went. The shorts were ok. I saw a really interesting documentary called Hafner's Paradise, about an 83 year old former Nazi under Hitler.

Also there was a cool flick called Mirageman. Kinda like an Argentinian Ong Bak.

The festival is going on til the end of June if you still wanna check it out.

I went to it a couple of years ago and saw The Foot Fist Way. Im not sure how other festivals are but the parking is horrible for LA's

+1 for the amateur night comment although I did see Infernal Affairs one year so I guess i am 1/2. In general I think foreign films are a safer bet than domestic ones at film festivals.

Make sure to check out Anvil! The Story of Anvil. It looks very interesting.
