how can you even compare wisconsin and ILLINOIS of all fucking places to california? i grew up in california and spent a year in illinois, and it was the worst year of my life. ridiculously hot and humid in the summer, bone chillingly cold in the winter, the people sucked, the lake sucked (and instead of salt burning your eyes, you got a staph infection because its dirty as fuck), all of the angry homeless people sucked, and so did the culture in general.

Live 40 minutes away from hollywood, been there twice.
I live 15 minutes from an in n out, been there twice.
No snow? I live where its been 105 degrees this summer, but in the winter theres snow at lytle creek(I.E. knows what i mean.)
I dont have a lifted truck, I drive a 97 buick regal.
I didnt start drinking till AFTER highschool

California is great for all of the reasons people mention. Even No Cal being culturally different than SoCal is nice. No matter what you want to be you canf ind it. if you want to be a hick there is the central valley, small beach communities Central Coast, Wealthy beach community Santa Barbara and Carmel. into to plastic LA, Coffee culture SF. Snow bum Mammoth and Tahoe. The only thing that sucks is the cost of living, but that is the price one pays for living within 3 hours of anything you could possibly want to do.
