This is why some consider TMA's a joke.
In the Nov. 2007 edition of Black Belt mag they have an article about Tae Kwon Do and in the picture they show the TKD guy being mounted and the TKD guy on the bottom then holds the top guys arm with one hand and KO's him with a punch under the jaw. What BS. There have been thousands of MMA fights and no one has ever Ko'ed a guy from the bottom much less from the bottom mount position. It's seems like the TKD guys who advocate this technique would have watched at least a few MMA fights and could see that this kind of crap does NOT work. Any thoughts?

If someone with a decent level of power punched me under the jaw, even from the bottom position, I think it would do something quite evil to me.

I agree with you on this.

Anderson Silva is TKD trained and he KO'd Okami from the bottom position. Granted it was with a kick but still...

Uhm.. one of the things about having someone mounted is, he can't reach you but you can reach him.
Unless you put your chin down in the open and let him hookpunch you with all power he can generate (not that much just swinging just your arm), and you have the glass jaw of the century, no you won't get knocked out from that position.

No it wouldn't as being on top the punch would force your head backwards it might hurt but it wouldn't do any real damage. As an MMA fighter said "Life is good on top esp. in fighting". There have been thousands of MMA fights, Challege matches etc. and no one has ever been KO'ed or even lost a fight from the mount. Watch early UFC's they had no gloves and everyone except Royce who ended up on the bottom lost.
