is it because your friends get them or is it because you think it makes you look tough? can someone please tell me why so many people think tatoos are cool?

Self expression. I guess some people get them to make themselves look tough...or to be cool, but I got mine cause I liked the design and it means something to me. I plan on getting 3 or 4 more too. Got a problem with that? I've got tattoos...I can obviously kick your ass...

I got a tattoo so i look baddass, except its not baddass at all its a dragon eating a koi fish and it goes across my back took 2 weeks to finish and cost me 2.5k ... prob is i regret i ever got it, its like gross now, i need to get it redone.

Well I'm getting a tattoo writing something in Chinese on my arm. The reason I'm getting it is partly because I'm proud of my culture and because what I choose to write will mean something to me. Most people get it because they like how it looks and a lot of girls are attracted to guys with tattoos, especially when they're young.

but they are permanent. why would anyone want permanent ink on their body? i also think it makes people think less of you.

i like punk rock, i like MMA, i like 'extreme sports' (i call them individual action sports) and i like the counter-culture of life.... all those things have 1 thing in common .. tattoos...

and i like art. why not use body art to portray something meaningful to you that looks cool.

also, it originated with sailors and bikers so it does have a 'bad ass' connotation.

and why not get permenant ink on your skin, you will die one day, deteriorate and your body will not even exist anymore.. so who fucking cares. is it because you are afraid that society will judge you ?

You can't let society judge you or let their judgements bother you.
I got my tattoo because it represented something very deep and permanent to me.
I don't regret getting it, paying for it, or sitting in the "chair" for 5 plus hours.

i get tattoos because i like them. i couldn't care less about what anyone else thinks. i get what i like, non-usual stuff, because i want to! stop being ignorant and think that people only do shit to impress others or because of peer pressure... grow up!
