Who here has a pilots licence or has flown a plane?

I have flown in a plane but I have never flown one. I have always wanted to though. My cousin is a pilot.

My uncle is a helicopter pilot. I would love to learn to fly helicopters or planes one day.

I am a few classroom hours away from getting my private helicopter pilots licence.

Flying is the greatest thing ever.

Is it easy to get an airline job with your licence alone or do you have to start smaller unless you were in the airforce?

Hey it's awesome that so many here are learning to fly. One thing though, Helicopters scare the shit out of me. I know statistically it's safe, but the fact that if the thing fails you have almost no chance since it can't even glide in for a landing makes me not want to fly in them.

Just finished ground school (community college) and have been up with others several times.
The small prop planes are a blast. I live in a very rural area with several country airport scattered about, so there are quite a few private pilots up here. They all love it, and the friends that can, have bought into planes with others to help defray costs.

I'd really like to get the license now, but need to finish a home remodel first so will have to do ground shcool over again before flight school. It is a lot of info.

I have been up in private heli's a couple of times and it is a blast. If you have not tried gliders I can't tell you how enjoyable it is. I would like to have a home in Alaska one day, so the pilot's license is something I really want. Of my experiences flying, the favorite would be the glider. Easier on the fuel too..
