depends what kind of company you run, are you giving them a christmas bonus?? is it important you have their "approval"??? or you are just professional and fair with them??? I dont have 10 employees but at times I've had 2 people working for me, I was in charge of paying them. I really dont care to be "friends" with them, I am nice, fair and try to make their job comfortable however I dont care if they like me or not as long as they do their job. I really am not an as shole, Im actually nice to them however I dont care about being "friendly friendly" with them. I wouldnt give them more than a card, and I wouldnt expect anything from them either, and that doesnt mean its a bad relationship!

The company gives everyone a Christmas bonus. I'm just the lab supervisor. Basically I make sure they don't make meth with the chemcals, lol seriously they have done it before and have been fired. Not these particular employees but employees in the past.

so you have to "reward" them for not making meth?? you have to "reward" them for not doing what they are not supposed to do??? I dont know dude, I dont know you and dont know what kind of relationships you have, but it seems to me that you dont "owe" these people nothing, as a supervisor you are supposed to be fair and nice to them but it seems you are going WAY out of your way to get a thank you from them. At the end of the day there is a lot of people losing their jobs today, they should be happy because they have one. And again Im not trying to be an as shole, Im just not that kind of boss, Im fair and nice but I dont baby people who work for me.

I hardly baby them and the meth thing was a running joke because people have made it in the past.
These people that work under me find the money to get me something every year whether they can afford it or not. They always pitch in to buy me "Captain" something so I have always reciprocated by doing the same. I don't look at it as if I owe them something. It's just a gesture of goodwill and seasons greetings. I'm sure some of them wont be happy with there reviews I give them but why should that get in the way of the spirit of the holidays?
