Who buys their employees xmas gifts?

I have 10 guys under me and they always get me gifts. Last year this is what they got me.

A 40 pounder of crown royal.

Two Bruins practice jerseys I use for the league I'm in.

A Bruins pen that lights up black and gold. (way cool)

A pink Bruins touque they made me wear around.

A card signed by everyone with 20 dollars worth of lotto tickets and a holiday gift scratch ticket package.

This year I've gotten everyone a card with a toblerone chocolate bar on it, movie passes for two so they can take there significant other to the movies and $20 gift certificate to Tim Hortons (donut/coffee shop)


Am I giving too much or not enough?

Does anyone give or receive from employees?

Hmmm we dont erally do gifts, but we do company holiday party. However, they kinda blow, esp compared to my girls company party.

Our party: at a crappy hotel in town in the banquet room. 1 buffet line for everyone with very mediocre food that was 15 late. The party was during work hours, so you have to take 4 hours of vacation time to go, it was $10 and youcan bring a date, but it's $32 to bring them and they probably have to take time off work as well.

My girls company party: at a fancy hotel, with 2 buffet lines, dance floor, band, door prizes, and the whole thing is free and your spouse is free too.

I had 2 workers from the other side of the border underneath me and I paid for them to go home for the winter. They showed up in the spring with a hundred tamales just for me.

Our boss sponsored a 2 day trip to Vienna (2 Casinos) and paid for all expenses (food, flight, 4-star-hotel)...

I usually get anywhere from $2500 to $5000 bonus, twice year. Then I will use some of that to get my guys something...Obviously the guys that have been there the longest get the better shit...The gifts range in price from $30 to $200...Plus the company usually gets them a little something also.

I have 15 guys to buy for.

My girl's company took her and her fellow employees out to a bar/grill that her boss' brother owns and gave them all a scarf made out of t-shirt material with their company logo on it....

I only give gifts to the hot chicks I work with. Give's them more incentive to be hot.

i never get gifts for the people i work with. cuz you get one person one, then you have get the next person one, then the next, so you dont feel guilty. so i dont partake in that.

but my work gave me a starbucks and target gift card last year. pretty nice i guess.

We always have a pretty kick-but Holiday party at work. It usually involves a very nice dinner, tickets to a show and a hotel stay somewhere. We are in the NY metro area, so it usually rotates between NYC, Atlantic City, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Individually my boss gets each of us something different (he has six direct reports including me). Last year he gave me a signed Michael Strahan jersey. The six of us that work for him chip in $100 each and we get him something different each year. For my support people, it's Godiva chocolates or Omaha Steaks depending if they're male or female...
