Amazon has way too much competition, youll have to sell yours at 5 a piece to sell them.

Half.com, I can normally make CLOSE to 50% back...many times your books are out of "print" at that point lol.

Stupid industry.

Holy shit, what kind of classes are you taking? The most I ever paid was $400.00 for a quarter. Another good way is to find people taking the classes the next quarter/semester and try to pawn them off on them for 65% of the price. You don't get all of your money back, but you get more than those fucking crooks at the bookstore give and the buyer gets a deal as well. That's what I used to do and it usually worked well unless they changed the book.

Holy shit! what courses are you taking that cost 1200 in books?

The absolute worst semester I have ever had was 600 bucks. You must be a science major or something.

post a "books for sale" ad in your campus' bulletin boards. write your phone number into small little strips of paper so it'll be wasy for the readers to rip it away.

as for the price, make it about $10-15 cheaper than what the bookstore is selling for used books.

lastly, make sure that the books will be used for next semester. textbook companies always produce new ones to make profit.

My last several semesters, I rarely bought books online. What I ended up doing was taking the notes my instructor gave us and reading more about it online. Then after a week or two I got to know the instructors well enough that they'd let me borrow their books for the semester--either the department or they themselves tend to keep a copy or ten on hand.

Any book that has to do with my major though, I bought and kept for reference. Although admittedly I like reading, so even the non-relevant books that I bought I kept anyways.

Either Ebay or Craigslist, or post an ad somewhere in your building for the people who are going to take the class next year. Thats what I did and I didn't get back all my money but I got enough for an HDTV.

I just thought of something, if you know what classes you are taking next semester, just stand outside the book store or book truck and buy it from students coming in to sell their books the last day. You'll give them more money than the bookstore, win for them, you will get them cheaper, win for you

good tactic but you'll have to invest a lot of time to catch your buyer.
