What's your vice?
Do you see any particular vices growing in popularity in your circle of friends? Any falling out of favor?
Do you have any vices? Do you adhere to any rituals? Are your vices solitary or social?
I currently drink coffee and a broad variety of craft beers--I usually consume in moderate quantities. I consider them both social enjoyments. With beer, I check the aroma, color, taste, mouthfeel, etc. I've become a bit of a beer geek and beer snob. Never turn down a free beer, though!
When I was in the Marines I took up dipping/chewing tobacco out of boredom. I thought I would quit after my four year enlistment was up, but it took me an additional four years (and having my tonsils removed at 25) to finally quit. It's a nasty vice, but surprisingly quite enjoyable for the first couple years. In the Corps it was a social habit, but back in the civilian world I became very nearly a closet dipper.
