What's Good in San Diego, CA???
Hey guys, planning a trip to San Diego, CA w/ my GF in Mid-April and was looking for some input for some great activities to plan.
Some days I will prefer leisurely activities such as laying on the beach and I know my GF is set on the shops, dining out, and getting pampered (i.e. mud baths, manicures, pedicures, that whole nonsense).
She and I both love animals so the San Diego Zoo is a must.
Going into Mexico interests us both, not sure what approach to take as to the best way go about it.
Def. going to hit up the GasLamp District. What does the GasLamp District entail? Shops...Bars...?
Coronado Island has been recommended and seems to be a beautiful romantic place to check out.
Dicks Last Resort seems entertaining and amusing. Should be worth a look. From my understanding the Waiters and Waitresses pull funny pranks what not?
Using my Starwoods Points I have to stay in a Hotel under the Starwood Umbrella. I might go with the La Jolla Sheraton.
Personally, I'm looking for some exhilarating activities. I know hang gliding was mentioned & I will have to check that out.
During the day I'd be interested in: SeaWorld, Wild Animal Park, Museums, Aquariums and the like.
Nighttime interests include: bars (pubs not clubs), I need to crank up the romance dial so any really Romantic spots during the day or night would be highly appreciated.
Any more light you guys can shed on the aforementioned points of interest or if you can suggest any of your own I'm all ears (errr...eyes?)

I went to San Diego last summer with my gf and had the best time of my life.
We spent one full day in La Jolla. We rented a kayak and paddled into caves off of the shore.
The Zoo is a must! Gas Lamp was great too(bars, fancy restaurants). We stayed at the Marriot on the marina. You can rent boats right up front. It was a blast!
One romantic thing you could do is kayak outside of Seaworld during the fireworks. There are also dinner cruises.
Have fun!

went to their Water Park, Disneyland (not SD but 1 hour away)... a restaurant... it was really blazing, around 100+ F degrees. Beach was nice, but the waves are different from east coast waves... they are more long/stretched out
downtown at night was cool, really no people around, complete opposite of new york, just gift shops, pier, some other cool landmarks, make sure to dine on that battleship

Great suggestions...love the Kayak and Dinner cruise ideas.
What about wine tours? I know Napa Valley is 7+ hour drive away...but does SD have any good wine tours?
