What would you do?
Suppose you're working for a solid corporation with nice salary. One of the benefits offered by the company is 100% educational costs covered & paid for up front. The only catch is (and this should not come as a surprise) you must remain a full-time employee to receive the benefit.
Now suppose you've recently scored very well on the GMAT, and have a good enough undergrad GPA / work experience, and everything else required to get into a top MBA program. Other important factors to consider are you own a house and live with a serious girlfriend.
That said, what would you do?
Option A:
Quick your job, move away from your girlfriend, go into debt, but attend a top 10 MBA school.
or
Option B:
Keep your job, have your part-time MBA paid for 100% up front, and attend a top 30 MBA school.
I guess the main question being asked is, is an MBA from a top 10 program that much more valuable so as to warrant making the sacrfices above?

no it is not. However if you arn't that happy with the girl then the question changes. I assumed you were happy with your current life just look for more education/pay.

From what you've said option A seems like the way to go.
edit: I'm a fool and meant option B. Sorry.

I am happy with my current life.
I guess the main thing is, it's hard for me to settle for one school, when I know I can get into another. It's just such a big sacrifice though...

I just think you're over thinking it. If you're happy with the way things are now then why bother changing so much just to get in a school that's a little bit better.
Will getting into the top 10 school in stead of the top 30 school change your worth at the end?

Thing is I am not sure a top 10 MBA program is necessarily a guarantee of anything, considering there will be other people at the school as well. Further, whether a top 10 or a top 30 school -- it will still come down to YOUR specific performance. If you perform well at both, I believe the difference is negligible.
Further still, if you're in a committed relationship -- I'd talk it over with her. Your choices also shape her life, and if you care about her you'll take her considerations under advisement.
If you've got a bird in the hand, why let it go in hopes of finding two in the bush? What more do you want?
Whatever your answer, that's your answer.
