Take your dog to another vet.
Doctors and Vets are normal people who make normal mistakes. She probably has this set idea in her stupid little Dr's head about what is wrong, her solution isn't working but she really has no idea nor the time/inclination to "really" look into the problem. She'll at best after a while of no improvement start one offing shit like, oh lets try this, or this, you would like to think it's because the DR./Vet knows what's going on but rather it's because they have no idea and are hoping something sticks. Take the dog to a new vet 'cause this one ain't gonna give you any new ideas, she already has your dog classed in the "wtf is going on I don't really know but they keep coming in which means I get paid...I'm super busy" mode.

I have to honestly ask though, why did you purchase a dog when it was coming from that kind of place? I know your instinct was to save these animals, but you should have known it would result in bad things. Should have just reported both of those shitheads who wouldnt take care of thier dogs.
Anyways since you did an admirable thing and took home one of those dogs, I think you should do what you think is best for yourself , your wife and the animal. If you do decide its best to put the animal down just think of this one thing; The short time that dog has spent with you (someone who cares) was probably the happiest time of its life and im sure he/she will rest in peace knowing how much you cared.

wow. thank you man. i haven't thought about it that way but what you said actually means alot to me.
an update. she gained a half a pound this week... up to 7.5lbs... and she looks a little better, but she also got a booster for parvo and that set her back a little... really really sore and really groggy. her body is still very delicate so we are falling behind on vaccinations because we don't want to overload her system yet. she hasn't thrown up any food this week and her poop has all been solid. it is still too early to tell but from my earliest observations she seems to be improving slightly... so that is a very good sign and i remain optimistic.

Man, that's a bummer. And after seeing her pictures you just posted, she's such a pretty dog. Beautiful eyes and a cute face.
Maybe it wouldn't hurt to bring her to a second vet to see what they say and what their diagnosis is. I personally wouldn't give up on her, and it sounds like you don't want to either. I'd give it more time and assess the situation a month or so down the road.
I hope she pulls thru it though. I've owned dogs in the past that came from abusive or negligent households, and you can just tell that once they're in a caring and loving environment that they're whole life changes. Sometime takes a while, but it makes a huge difference to them and you. But I hope she's ok, keep us posted.

now i am not saying there is anything wrong with this particular lifestyle... but it is NOT the environment for a puppy or dog to live in... so without reservation i offered her 150 dollars for one of the two dogs that was left and immediatly went home and posted an ad requesting someone rescue the other dog as well...
our puppy is tan with a a white stripe on her face, white paws and a white tip on her tail. she has green eyes and a red nose.
so our first night home i take her outside and she begins to poop, but her poop gets stuck halfway. i hold her still, grab a leaf and try to help her pass it but its HARD... i thought "well thats odd, poop shouldn't be this firm" it was also about 6 inches long and 1/4 inch thickwell eventually she got it out and i picked it up in the leaf and brought it inside, after rinsing off the object in the sink it became clear that her owners had allowed her to eat a hemp bracelet or anklet with beads!
she was 7 weeks old and was a little small for her age but i thought nothing of it, 2 weeks later i began to get concerned, she was growing but she looked kinda boney... took her to the vet and voiced my concern and we have undergone over 700 dollars in tests( i love this dog) so far we have determined that whatever is wrong with her it is not viral and it is not a blockage but she has some sort of intestinal abnormality and cannot properly digest food...
i have her ona medicated diet and i am giving her artificial digestive enzymes because her pancreas won't produce them naturally (this isn't cheap) and she isnt really showing any improvement... her skeleton grows and she gets taller, but she isn't putting on any weight.... to put it in perspective she is a 14 wk old pit who weighs 7 lbs...
so what would you do? keep testing her? let her suffer and keep medicating her in hopes she gets better? put her down and save the money, heartache and her suffering?
i am really at a point where i jsut don't know what to do... i love this dog to death and no one can tell me whats wrong with her...

Well this is what happens when you cheap out and buy a dog in the manner you did.

After reading several post of people saying put it down I hope you have gone to get a second opinion from a different Vet before you do such a thing. In fact you should just go get one anyways. Are the digestive enzymes a probiotic???
