It is interesting.
I've been bitching for awhile that corn ethanol sucks and sugar ethanol rocks.

The US is screwing things up by subsidizing corn ethanol to compete with gas, but they're imposing tariff's on sugar ethanol to make it so it can't compete with corn or gas.

I was adding vegetable oil but they went and raised the price of that too.

Time just had an article on how the ethanol craze is fucking everything up. It is actually causing food shortages, we're taking food out of kids mouth and putting in our gas tanks.

Here's the clincher. The plants their tearing up to produce fuel are the plants that take carbon out of the air. Less plants mean more carbon and that was what we were using ethanol for to begin with.

They just found a huge petroleum reserve off the Brazilian coast. Its supposed to be one of the three largest ever found.

Kind of ironic now that they're all ethanol'd up.
