What motivates you to train?
How do you motivate yourself to train hard in your current martial art? Understandably it gets tiring and monotonous to train in MMA, BJJ, Judo, Wrestling, etc on a daily or regular basis. What keeps you going? Have you seen some of the crazy workout regimens some guys have? I just find it hard to keep going like that.

I train for my fitness, I train for a healthy outlet for my raging (not roid rage) testosterone.

I train BJJ 3-5 days a week and it's tough, I competed after about 4 months and lost all 3 of my matches and I think that was good. Now I'm motivated to train hard even when I hit those slumps. I want to win my next tournament.

A desire to master your physical self.
Competition, and perhaps the chance to succeed is the most prevalent I imagine, at least to my anyhow.

I like getting into shape and being able to defend myself. That's all.

+1. My daughter talks so proud about me to her friends "My dad can REALLY kick your daddys butt!". Not to mention that my daughter is becoming an MMA fan and sports her favorite "Team Quest" shirt at every possible occasion. AND when she took the pictures with Santa on X-mas, she did her two fists up fighting pose.
AND....
She's only 5 years old.
Thats why I train.
