I tell the barber I want to get out of the shower, run my hand over the top and along the side to smooth it and look good. He cuts it that way. I kind of look like a marine, except I'm a coward and I like to wear dresses.

I had dreads in the late-90's. They were pretty cool...for a while at least. They were sorta long, a tad past shoulder length. The girl that did them made a solution of egg, wood glue, and toothpaste. That shit stunk so bad at first, and you can't wash them for a few days so they'll clump correctly and not come apart.

I eventually got tired of them, so I used an entire bottle of conditioner to try and loosen them up. I ended up giving up with that plan and just cut them off at a few inches.

I'd love to grow dreads but my hair seems to stop growing after it hits 1.5 inches long. It's pretty annoying. So now I just shave it all off.

They were definitely cool back then when I was in my late-teens. But now that I have to be a little more professional I couldn't have them now...unless I was shipwrecked on an island or living in Jamaica working as a para-sailing employee.

And that sucks that your hair stops growing when it's that short. My hair grows so fast these days that I have to get it cut every 3-4 weeks to keep in manageable.
