What Happened To Nickelodeon? It's Terrible!

I remember back in the 90's as a kid watching Nickelodeon and the shows they had were really amazing.

I was a big viewer of Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Garfield, Rocko's Modern Life etc.

Thinking back, these shows were genius.

I remember the lineups too. At the late afternoon they had shows like Alex Mack, Clarissa, Salute Your Shorts, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Hey Dude, Pete and Pete.

Plus there was Nick at Nite with the old shows such as I Love Lucy, Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island etc.

What the hell happened!? I occasionally check the line up on Nickelodeon and all I see are tons of spongebob and Dora. The night line up is the George Lopez show? WTF? This is terrible. All the shows I've listed are gone now and replaced with pure garbage.

Are You Afraid of the Dark was awesome, Rocko's Modern Life was hilarious, and Doug was awesome for a kid growing up to watch.

How did Nickelodeon get so terrible? I remember in 1999 the good shows were still on.

I remember watching Double Dare or whatever the hell it was called. I also liked You Can't Do That on Television back when I was like 8 or 9.

I always thought Nickelodeon sucked pretty hard, with a few exceptions. I would also assume they know their target demographic better than you do.

One of my favorite shows.

And for those of you who remember it, you remember the older guy who played all the roles like Barfs Burgers and such. He passed away this summer as well.
