I hear you there. Pantera's "Official Live: 101 Proof" is a great album for the road I've always thought.

Modest Mouse is good for trips. Especially their earlier stuff like "This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About" or "The Lonesome Crowded West". They even sound like driving albums. Anything after "The Moon and Antartica" isn't nearly as good trips.
