This is so lame. What came first war or peace? Is peace just a lull period in the never ending state of war? Or is war a break in the infinitude of peace? Am i warring with me peace, or is something peacing my war?
Oh these dichotomous conundrums..They are so taxing on the common mind! Almost as if the dispute seems to be innate to our language of labeling, categorizing, and simple judgments. What if the polarizing questions cant be answered with the same mental faculties that asked them? Ah snaps, who cares, the intelligent higher power dictating this all is prolly just fucking with me as this very act of self questioning seems to be contradicting my higher powers omnipotence and omnipresence. Shit! If He is all, sees all, knows all, is he my thoughts, or the medium of them, or am just a droplet from his mighty ocean, reflecting on my own nature which is really a microcosm of his own?
Coffee time.

Like people have said, good and evil are relative terms. Neither one came first because neither one truely exists.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but good and evil doesn't exist despite what your parents might tell you.

while the analogy may not necessarily be sound, cold is indeed the absence of heat

Obviously it struck a cord with you
Rather than making such a post, why don't you try to give the ts some insight on why you think this question is not worth asking? Wouldn't that be a better approach then just calling the question dumb? Your comment has absolutely no worth or relevance to anything, and deserves to suffer and die with the deepest humiliation.

I mistakenly took you for a theist based on your first post. I hope, in that case, you're not a philosophy guy. If you are an atheist why would you be asking philosohpical questions like that? You seem intelligent so you are probably learned on the subject of evolution. If this is the case, why would you be asking questions that could be interpreted through an understanding of evolution?

You don't really believe that though, do you? It's an easy thing to argue intellectually, that good and evil doesn't exist, but when it becomes a personal issue, no one really believes that.
If someone came along and killed your family and raped your wife, would you rationalize it by saying "Well, as angry as I am, my anger is simply a social construct that was determined by my cultural upbringing". I doubt it.
I think deep down we all know objective moral values exist, and although our intellectual side may attempt to deny it, our emotional and personal side never does.

There is no good or evil, illusions manifested by our puny language. There is only nature.

That would be a very limited, closed thing to do. Evolution is change and adaptation that occurs in biological systems over time. While it may have some relevance to ethical theories and cultural standards, the question is far from "settled" simply because atheistic evolution is thought by some to be true.
Bottom line: the biological sciences does not have everything to say about morality.
