I was thinking more along the lines of causes for divorce, infidelity, lying, selfishness, etc etc.......

I'm not saying that atheists don't have a conscience, we all do. The difference generally between the two is that theists don't ignore their conscience. Ofcourse even theists at times have done terrible things, but they too would have known what they were doing was wrong. The difference generally between a theist and an atheist is admittance of guilt.

When someone continually denies or rejects their implanted moral conscience, they also reject the one who put it there, and the concept of a creator becomes more and more alien to them.

Nothing is inherently evil.

I guess in some way the world worked fine and was inherently good by our standards before us.

And for the last time: mutation is a change in the nucleotide sequence. Do you know what a nucleotide sequence is? And I said a mutation cannot "cause" a birthe defect because a mutation is what occurs in the DNA strand that in turn dictates your physical make-up. Besides, you just don't know a lot about this stuff, just let it go. You're going off on a tangent when your original post dealt with the concepts of good and evil (which I've been taking part in while simultaneously dealing with you). I guess you're just slow.

Certain people don't understand the social norms and laws we've put into place. They know they can be punished for what they are doing. Very few people actually live in an alternate reality. Not many Pedophiles are schizophrenic so I can't see them not knowing what's coming to them. They simply just don't want to listen because it feels good to them. We'll never have people following every social norm.
