AC/DC have done the opposite of sellign out, and that isn't a good thing either, sure a band should have a sound but c'mon a little evolution of music is only healthy

All things considered, I find them to be the most talented group of musicians in rock music since ca. 1995.
Their skill of composition is very high, they write songs for themselves and Maynard has a terrific voice and passion about him (despite his eccentricity).

PJ has some incredible songs, and they've always put their fans and ideals above commercial success. they took tickemaster to court when they felt like their fans were being charged too much for tickets.
if you think about it, hendrix was a sellout in a way though. he caved in to black power folks and turned his back on his band to make an inferior band with black musicians. redding was meh, but hendrix and mitchell had something special together.

ARE YOU HIGH????!!!! They didn't change their music to make money???? WTF??? I KNOW you've heard the black album and I KNOW a human being can't be that naive. And you're going to sit there and try to convince me that Kill 'Em All and RTL (at the time) were pulling in big bucks ? No, they weren't. It took a little time for those albums to really sink in and shoot those guys up to the level they got to with fame for AJFA. Now, if they made AJFA with sturdy fan base and decent income, and then throw out the black album, you're saying they didn't change their music for more money?
Yeah, they're no sellouts at all.

but what about the facts that ****llica's brand of thrash ****l was completely irrelevent in the mid nineties and all of a sudden they return with shorter hair, piercings and shit with a completely different sound?
i actually think that 'load' had some good shit on it, but i think it's clear that it came about as a response to the market and culture at the time, and maybe just plain them mellowing out a bit.

This proves you don't know much about Pearl Jam. A band who actually STOPPED making videos and pulled back on airplay because they didn't want to betray their own principles, unlike...uh...Met allica. And all the releases they've financed on their own..come on now.

I agree with this and this is ironically why M3tallica took so much shit after the Black album--they evolved a little.
But at the same time, they didn't become alternative either after the Grunge movement killed-off the much-deserving-of-a-cruel-death Hair Band movement of the 80's.
But on the opposite side, they didn't stay pigeon-holed like Motorhead, Slayer and Pantera. Motorhead will be playing to the exact fucking crowd 20 years from now as they were 20 years ago.

it is like saying the Beatles were sellouts because their later albums wasn't sweet pop-rock songs about "I wanna hold your ha-and"
