The black screen with loading circle-arrow just keeps turning and turning but the video never loads in Firefox in Linux Fedora 8, could it be something related to Linux or Firefox?

Any suggestions?

Do you have the plugins installed? This problem is likely on the Linux side.

I have the Shockwave Flash plugin, are any other required for YouTube, etc.?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I don't have a terrible amount of experience with Linux. I have Ubuntu running in VMware Player, and had the same problem with Youtube videos. I just clicked a link to install missing plug-ins and everything worked.

friend of mine in utica is having the same problem. He can't seemed to get it fixed either (either that or he's just too lazy). He just uses IE.

I tried Ubuntu but I don't like GNOME, so I tried Kubuntu which was much better; but in the end decided for Fedora cause it's more safety oriented than (K)Ubuntu or any other distro out there.

I am missing the Java plugin, I will install it because I think that's where the problem is.
