Tool Tops Album Chart With '10,000 Days'

Finally some good music tops the charts, no G-Unit, Lindsay Lohan or Fallout Boy.......refreshing!!!!!

Rock acts dominate the top two slots on The Billboard 200 again this week, with Tool's "10,000 Days" taking the crown on more than double the sales of the latest from Pearl Jam.

The Tool Dissectional/Volcano set gave the band a career-best sales week, moving 564,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, to put it at No. 1. "10,000 Days" also takes over the lead from Godsmack's "IV" (Universal) on the Top Rock Albums chart.

Tool's last album, "Lateralus," also opened at No. 1 on the big chart in 2001 with sales of 555,000 units. It has sold more than 2.3 million to date.

"Pearl Jam," the band's first studio effort in four years and first for J Records, sold 279,000 to rank No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and the Rock Albums chart. The figure is the best sales week since 1998's "Yield" debuted at No. 2 with 358,000 units.

"Pearl Jam" is the Seattle-based quintet's 28th entry on The Billboard 200, including seven previous studio albums and 20 live sets.

They're too boring... I don't see why people love them so much.

Their latest album sounds *a lot* like everything else, but needless to say they're better than 99% of the shit out there. I'd rather listen to their shit on loop than turn on the local "rock" radio usually.

How can you hate a band who wrote a song called "Hooker with a Penis"?

ermmm lets take 2 popular bands that I agree no one on here will say that they suck, Pink floyd and Led zeppelin. If you listen to there music it all in general sounds similar and has alot of the same feel, but you know heaven forbid we say that. If you don't like a band fine but don't say that all the music sounds the same.

Ps. RedDevil I am in no way flaming or trying to single you out, but I hate that string of words in that quote with a passion.
