Time Travel as a plot device?

What are some of your favorite movies, television shows, books and other works of fiction that featured time travel?

Back To The Future: Classic trilogy.

Star Trek: Used it so much that it's hard to keep track. In DS9 Benjamin Sisko interacted with these "Non-Corporeal" beings that lived in the wormhole, and didn't really have the conception of time being an arrow that humans have. There were some great episodes about time travel, such as "Far Beyond the Stars", "The Trouble With Tribbles" and especially "The Visitor". Also used extensively in The Original Series, The Next Generation and Voyager. Time travel is also the premise in both Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek: First Contact, both of which were among the better Trek films.

The X-Files: Time travel is featured in the episodes "Synchrony", "Redrum", and "Monday", among others. Of these, I thought "Monday" was the best. It was essentially a Groundhog Day type scenario, when the robbing of a bank kept happening over and over again, always resulting in the deaths of Scully and Mulder, while a women who knew the robber was helpless to stop it. This episode really worked because it focused on the human element, as opposed to the science of such a thing happening (which obviously is pretty flimsy).

Donnie Darko: It's really difficult to describe the plot of this movie, but it definitely involves time travel.

Anyways, there's 1000's more, list the ones that you remember- this wikipedia article may act as a reminder:

The Terminator
Terminator 2
12 Monkeys
The Butterfly Effect

That's all I can think of other than the ones you mentioned(BTF is one of my favorites). I remember Timecop and The Time Machine but I wouldn't exactly call those great movies, just slightly entertaining.

I detest almost all time travel stuff.

I find it the crappiest plot device, ever.

I like it. If you don't mind me asking, what's your objection to it? If it's simply the fact that it's unrealistic, then you could probably say the same thing about most science fiction.
