Liam Neeson, McGregor, Portman, etc, all turned out what I thought were awful performances, and when an ensemble cast is that stiff and unconvincing, there's a reason, and that reason is usually the director.

Sounds like a line from Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Isn't that a perfect casting?

Hey, I just thought about Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. Did anyone think he was right for that role?

Kilmer and Bale are two of the most versatile actors within their generation. Aside from the batman movies they have a whole portfolio of roles loved by critics.

And read my post, I said Keanu was excellent for the Matrix.
Troy sucked.

I have the DVD for 2 reasons: the fight scene where Achilles stormed the beach and the fight scene between Achilles and Hector. The Achilles/Hector scene is one of the best fight scenes in cinematic history!

But NONE of the acting was believable, forced tears and expressions, bad accents, etc etc.

I can't think of too many movies(any offhand except for Top Gun) Bale and Kilmer are loved for. They have decent, but forgettable, movies.

My keanu jab wasn't aimed at you, probably the 12 people who said he sucked as Neo.
