I know, but Cruise is the last one left. There's also the fact that the character was apparently immortal (survived EVERY battle, EVER).

No man, Bison was a little thin and tall (look at Street Fighter II).

I'd be surprise if it took more than a week to film it. Like they would finish one take and say "fuck it, it's good enough." It wasn't even unintentionally funny. horrible movie

They may not have all been blockbuster hits, but his performances were pretty good nonetheless. The Doors, Tombstone, Heat, Thunderheart, The Ghost and The Darkness, The Saint, Wonderland, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
What held him back was most likely his eccentric personality and his choice of roles. He turned down/wasn't casted in such films as The Outsiders, Crimson Tide, The Insider, Interview With A Vampire, Collateral, The Matrix. He was practically on fire for the first half of the 90's, then his career dissipated at the end of the 90's and 2000's.
Basically, Kilmer did what Christian Bale is doing now. The only difference is his Batman movie was shit and he didn't have the internet to support a cult following. There was a time when Kilmer was considered to be the in the mold of Pacino, De Niro, Newman, Brando etc. in the sense that he was a versatile actor with the ability to pull off difficult and memorable roles and could become great.

QFMFT.
Kilmer's severely underrated actor, I haven't even seen his most famous roles like in Heat, Tombstone or the Doors. Thunderheart, Ghost and Darkness, Saint, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang are all good. I'm going to add Salton Sea and Spartan on that list. Sad to say but a lot of his good performances were made when he already was a Hollywood "has-been".

brad pitt in troy is a very good choice i forgot about that one. he played the character ALL wrong, he was far too emotional. the movie sucking ass didnt help though
and i disagree with bloom being miscast in kingdom of heaven. i thought the character development and everything else was pretty good. not my favorite movie but he did well
david wenham in 300. what a fuckup that was, total waste of a good actor. i think he had about two lines (which wouldnt be too bad if the action was good - it wasnt)
oh and in case anyone didnt know: tom selleck was going to be indiana jones, but harrison just barely got the role (i think it was by a fluke). god that wouldve ruined my childhood

Just recently watch the Flintstones movie again. I'd say casting Rosie O'Donnell as Bettie Rubble was just the worst choice ever. What were they thinking?
Other honorable mentions
Kristen Dunst as Mary J
George Clooney as Batman
Halle Barry as Storm and Catwoman
