i can second that, and strongly. they piss away money like a motherfucker, have a bunch of worthless employees, end up subcontracting most of their actual work anyways, spend like a motherfucker on unnecessary projects, and they're awful to work with.

My mom works for the city and she would agree with this. The managers especially are lazy as fuck and pass the work onto others, nurse unions do crazy shit like demand health care for life (which is unfair to the city) and so forth.

of course my moron of a friend goes and ends up buying the knives and never sold shit except to his mom which he never made money off of. so he owns 2 sets of overpriced knives. and like a moron still defends to the death the quality of the knives he bought and how they were a great investment and still lies about making sales.

the few guys I knew in college that bothered to do this, only made sales to friends and family. After they ran out of those to sell to, SCREWED.

This is just another example of the challenges that Healthcare has right now with the Medication administration process.

I will say that my job is involving finding better healthcare processes with innovative process methods. During data collection for an improved medication process I followed nurses around. When a med was not filled or placed in an incorrect place in the med room, a mistake on pharmacy's part, the a medication pass can quickly become convoluted, ultimately ending up as a lot more work for the nurse. NOT TO mention having to explain why you are waking them up the patient again for more meds, or why they aren't getting the med their doctor told them they were going to get at a certain time. ETC.

I'm not saying that your complaints are not legitimate, because they are, but just because you deal with some bad nurses JUST the same way as nurses have to deal with bad Pharmacists makes me think you need a bit more "Perspective" on the entire process.

I've been in the hopsital pharmacy field long enough to know that nurses are, by far, the broken rung on the ladder of healthcare.
Just yesterday, a doctor called up here bitching cause his patient hadn't gotten his Go-Lytely and Mag Citrate. ORder was written at 1600, it was faxed to us at 1830. The friggin dumbass nurse blamed it on pharmacy, saying that we never sent the med. So the doctor calls up here bitching and I'd just about had enough of it. I asked him if his nurse even bothered to check the med room, and he said he didn't know.
We received the order, filled it, and delivered it to the floor within 5 minutes. I then got on the phone with the nurse and gave her a verbal bitchslap for being ignorant.
NO matter what gets fucked up or what nurses fail to do, they somehow blame it on pharmacy. That's their copout.
Sure there are a few pharmacists out there who make mistakes, but nursing ignorance/errors far outweigh any mistakes made by pharmacy.
